TOEIC比較表現の解き方
比較問題は than、as、the most などの目印を探すと、選ぶ形をかなり絞れます。
代表パターン
比較級 + than：〜より…
the + 最上級：最も…
as + 形容詞/副詞 + as：〜と同じくらい…
twice as + 形容詞 + as：〜の2倍…
the + 最上級：最も…
as + 形容詞/副詞 + as：〜と同じくらい…
twice as + 形容詞 + as：〜の2倍…
不規則変化にも注意
good → better → best、bad → worse → worst、many/much → more → most などは語尾に -er / -est を付けません。
例題
The new office is twice as large _____ the old one.
答え：as
twice as large as で「〜の2倍の広さ」という定型表現です。
答え：as
twice as large as で「〜の2倍の広さ」という定型表現です。
than があれば比較級、the most があれば最上級、as が前にあれば後ろの as を疑うのが基本です。
